The Hamilton Tiger-Cats say an independent arbitrator has ruled that speedy receiver Chris Williams deal with the CFL club is binding. Williams, the CFLs top special-teams player last season, had gone to arbitration asking to be released from the final year of his contract with the Ticats reportedly so he could pursue NFL offers. "We are pleased that the independent arbitrator has reached this logical and obvious conclusion," Kent Austin, Hamiltons head coach and general manager, said in a statement. "As we have stated all along, and the arbitration result validated, Chris has a legal and binding contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. "Were eager to put this matter behind us and continue our preparations for the 2013 season." Austin is expected to discuss the Williams situation in more detail Wednesday. It remains unclear whether Williams will report to Hamilton or sit out the season, then pursue an NFL deal in 2014. "Chris has received the arbitrators decision," Williams agent, Dan Vertlieb, told TSN on Tuesday. "We are now in the process of discussing his options and deciding on the best course of action for Chris and his family." Williams is reportedly scheduled to earn a base salary of between $50,000 and $60,000 this season with Hamilton. The NFLs minimum stipend for 2013 is US$405,000, with players on the practice squad making about $90,000 annually. Williams had a club-record 17 TDs last season, including a CFL-record six on kick returns. As a result of the arbitrators ruling, the Ticats said they will not be subject to any penalties or fines. Williams had refused to attend Hamiltons mini-camp earlier this off-season and was a no-show when the Ticats opened training camp Sunday, resulting in the club placing him on its suspended list. Williams was reportedly contending he wasnt made fully aware of the conditions pertaining to his contract when he signed it prior to the 2011 season and that an unregistered agent negotiated the deal for him. Williams was also to have claimed Hamilton didnt offer him the one-year plus an option deal but rather just the two-year plus an option contract. As a result, Williams sought to have the contract made invalid. The five-foot-eight, 175-pound Williams signed with Hamilton in October 2010 and spent time on the practice roster before re-signing with the CFL club in May 2011. The 25-year-old native of Fort Worth, Tex., wasted little time making his mark in the league. Williams was named the CFLs top rookie in 2011 after registering 70 receptions for 1,064 yards and six TDs. He also had 12 kickoff returns for 252 yards and a touchdown while returning 12 punts for 81 yards. Williams was even better last season, with 83 catches for 1,298 yards and 11 TDs. He also led the CFL in punt returns with 78 for 1,117 yards and five touchdowns while adding five missed field goal returns for 256 yards and a TD. Williams played his college football at New Mexico State and joined the NFLs Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2009 but was released with an injury settlement prior to the start of the season. He signed with the Cleveland Browns later in the year and spent time on the practice roster before being let go. Larry Doby Indians Jersey . Twitter announced on Thursday it would be shutting down Vine, the once popular video-sharing app. And if youre anything like us, you were obviously devastated by the news. I mean, where else can you get videos of corgis swimming along to Enya? The app, which began in 2013, quickly became an Internet phenomenon as athletes, celebrities and normal people alike showcased their creativity in the six-second, looping videos. But instead of crying about our collective loss (that most of us actually forget about last year anyway), lets instead rewatch some of our all-time favorite videos from the OG and queen of the social media platform, Sydney Leroux.1. Happy Gilmore She may be a professional athlete, but the Vine legend struggled with her hilarious Happy Gilmore impression.2. Halloween shenanigans Leroux and her teammate Alex Morgan used to OWN Halloween. And in 2013, the duo cemented that status as they did their best Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke impressions after the musicians, um, memorable VMA performance. And they cant stopppppp.3. Such a beautiful day! Only Leroux could turn her car getting towed into comedic gold.4. Work it! Known for her prolific (and probably obsessive) social media game, Lerouxs teammate and friend Megan Rapinoe did a pretty spot on and highly-entertainning impression of Leroux posing for Instagram photos.dddddddddddd5. Boss Leroux Before she was a mom, Lerouxs focus was her canine-companion Boss, who became a staple across her accounts. As youll see here, aside from being loyal and adorable, hes also a really great sport.6. I am beautifulllllllllll! While she could have gone the Mean Girls route here, Leroux instead opted for a different take on Christina Aguileras classic song. So dont you bring her down today.7. When in Texas There is really nothing else to say here. When in Texas, yall!8. Dance party What are teammates for if they cant help you learn to dance, right? Meh. Maybe not in this case. Were looking at you, Heather OReilly.9. Prancercise! Remember that brief moment where the Prancercise woman was all the talk of the Internet? We also blocked that out, but thankfully, we can never forget Leroux, Morgan and the rest of the USWNTs best attempt at hoofing it.?10. She could teach you (but shed have to charge!) Lerouxs milkshake does not, in fact, bring all the boys to the yard.Well miss you, Vine. But thankfully, well continue to get our Leroux fix on every other social media channel. ' ' '
