CINCINNATI -- One trip around the bases has Yu Darvish thinking more like a hitter.Darvish connected for only the second homer by a Rangers pitcher, and Adrian Beltre hit a tiebreaking double in the eighth inning Wednesday night for a 6-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds and a split of their two-game interleague series.Darvishs solo shot to center field was one of three homers by the Rangers, who wasted a three-run lead before rallying late. Beltres double off Blake Wood (5-2) snapped a 5-5 tie.The right-handers next start will be in an American League game with the DH preventing him from getting to try for an encore.Just take the DH off and let me hit, he said, through a translator.Well, maybe not.If I get another at-bat, I might strike out, he said. I want to keep that (home run) image in my mind.Darvishs big moment came in the fifth when he ended his 0 for 12 career slump. He tipped the bill of his batting helmet as he rounded third base and raised an index finger briefly as he headed for the plate. The only other Rangers pitcher to homer was Bobby Witt in 1997 at Dodger Stadium, in only their third interleague game. The way he did it -- his whole at-bat looked good, Beltre said. That wasnt a cheap home run. He hit it to straight center field.Darvish looked good in batting practice before the game and assured manager Jeff Banister that he could hit. When he came back after hitting the home run, he reminded me that hed told me he could hit, Banister said. Thats a big boy home run to center field. That ball was struck well.Hes the fifth pitcher to homer against the Reds this season. It was just a really bad pitch, something he could handle, pitcher Tim Adleman said.Nomar Mazara had a three-homer, and Ian Desmond followed Darvishs homer in the fifth with one off Adleman. The Reds have given up 10 homers in the last three games, including four sets of back-to-back homers.Darvish let a 5-2 lead slip away. He walked a season-high five batters and hit a batter in six innings. A passed ball and an error led to two unearned runs.Jake Diekman (4-2) went one inning and got the win. Sam Dyson pitched the ninth for his 28th save in 32 chances. The win snapped Texas three-game losing streak. The Rangers havent lost more than four straight this season. They improved to 28-8 in one-run games, best in the majors.Carlos Beltran was hitless in four at-bats, leaving him in an 0-for-24 slump that matches his career high from 2000.Darvish helped the Reds score two runs in the second. He hit Adam Duvall and walked two to load the bases. Duvall scored when Ramon Cabrera grounded into a forceout, and another run scored on Jonathan Lucroys passed ball.Shortstop Elvis Andrus throwing error set up another unearned run in the fifth. Cabrera had an RBI double as the Reds tied it with three runs in the sixth, aided by another walk.INTERLEAGUEThe Rangers are 11-6 in interleague play, with their pitchers going 4 for 21 at the plate. The Reds are 5-12.TOP TWOThe Rangers host the Cleveland Indians on Thursday, matching the top two teams in the AL. Troubled heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has not trained in months. Hes also fighting depression, has suicidal thoughts and a drinking problem, and has, in his own words, done lots of cocaine. Lots of it.Fury made the admissions Monday in an interview with Rolling Stone that was posted on its website Tuesday. At the time of the interview, Fury said he had been sober for three days.Listen, Ive done a lot of things in my life. Ive done lots of cocaine. Lots of it, Fury said in the interview. Why shouldnt I take cocaine? Its my life, isnt it? I can do what I want. Yeah, I have done cocaine. Plenty of people have done cocaine as well. What the f--- has that got to do with anything? That aint a performance-enhancing drug. Am I not allowed to have a life now as well? Do they want to take my personal life off me, too? Ive not been in a gym for months. Ive not been training. Ive been going through depression. I just dont want to live anymore, if you know what Im saying. Ive had total enough of it. Theyve forced me to the breaking edge. Never mind cocaine. I just didnt care. I dont want to live anymore. So cocaine is a little minor thing compared to not wanting to live anymore.Eleven months ago, Fury won the heavyweight title by unanimous decision against Wladimir Klitschko in a massive upset, one of the biggest in history. But it has been all downhill since for Englands Fury, who pulled out of a July rematch, claiming a sprained ankle, before the rescheduled Oct. 29 date was canceled two weeks ago.Asked whether he scrapped the July date because of his problems, as opposed to an ankle injury, Fury said he had.To be honest, yes, he said. Ive not been in the gym for months. Ive been AWOL. Ive been out drinking, anything to get me mind off whats been going on to me.ESPN reported that on Sept. 22, the day before Fury withdrew from the October fight, he submitted to a random urine test conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association, which the fighters contracted with to handle testing. The test was ultimately positive for cocaine. Now Fury risks being stripped of his two world title belts for the positive test, as well as inactivity that seems certain to go beyond one year. But Fury (25-0, 18 KOs), 28, clearly has bigger issues in his life right now than whether he keeps the belts.Im going through a lot of personal demons, trying to shake them off, Fury told Rolling Stone. This has got nothing to do with my fighting. What Im going through right now is my personal life. ... They say Ive got a version of bipolar. Im a manic depressive. I just hope someone kills me before I kill myself.Fury said he was training in Holland this past May but was overwhelmed by depression and stopped. From that day forward, Ive never done any training, Fury said. Ive been out drinking, Monday to Friday to Sunday, and taking cocaine. I cant deal with it, and the only thing that helps me is when I get drunk out of me mind. When Fury attended the Deontay Wilder-Artur Szpilka heavyweight title bout in January at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, he was seen by many,, including media members, at an after party in the arena.dddddddddddd Fury was drinking heavily.Im in a very bad place at the moment, Fury said. I dont know whether Im coming or going. I dont know whats going to happen to me. I dont know if Im going to see the year out to be honest. I am seeing help, but they cant do nothing for me. What Ive got is incurable. I dont want to live. All the money in the world, fame and glory, means nothing if youre not happy. And I aint happy. Im very far from it.In the interview, Fury, who also faces a November hearing for a failed drug test for the steroid nandrolone in a fight before he faced Klitschko, blamed many of his problems on a witch hunt since he won the title. He said its because of his heritage.Because of my background, because of who I am and what I do -- theres hatred for Travelers and gypsies around the world, said Fury, an Irish Traveler, which is a group of about 40,000 nomadic, religious people who live throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom and fight among themselves for sport. They have been persecuted for centuries.Fury said he thought there was some sort of conspiracy to get him out of boxing.Theyve tried to get me chucked out of boxing because they cannot tame me, they cannot hire me, Im not for sale, no one can turn a key in my back, no one can do nothing to stop me, Fury said. So now theyre saying I took some cocaine and whatever. Listen, if I had some smack, Id take it. If I had heroin, Id take that, never mind cocaine, for what theyve done to me. Its a travesty what theyve done.I want to expose them for what they are. The British Boxing Board of Controls is in on it too. Theyre all in it together. The drug-testing companies are in on it as well. The British Boxing Board of Control on Wednesday said it would have a meeting on Oct. 12 to decide whether to withdraw Furys license. All of Mr. Furys recent issues will be discussed at that point, after which well see what were going to do, BBBofC general secretary Robert Smith told PA Sport. ... We deal with the license. So in theory, if we were to suspend him, (the WBO and WBA) would have no choice but to strip him because he cant defend them, can he?Cocaine is against the law of the land. We cant ignore the law of the land. Its drug use and we will deal with it accordingly.Fury also complained about the frequency of the drug testing. They tested me about six times within a few weeks, he said. Only recently, three days ago last week, they came to my house at 1:30 in the morning, tested me and came back at 9 a.m. to test me again. What is this? Do you understand the treatment Im getting off these people? Theyre driving me mad.It is crazy thats whats going on, but list
